NBI Clearance for those with HIT and realized that your clearance had Errors

Hello Readers!

The reason why I am sharing this is because I just recently experienced an error on my NBI Clearance Data (my middle name was misspelled, my fault though)

Back Story: I am a DOST scholar and I have to wait for 2 weeks before my clearance gets released because I have to go through Quality Control Interview. During the QC interview, I was asked if I still want to change the spelling of my middle name, unfortunately I just ignored it as it would take another few minutes to correct it and since I was also in a rush. It though it would just be fine, BUT IT WAS NOT!!!! People please remember that when dealing with official documents never rely on the short cuts!!! 
I was about to use the clearance for my pre-employment documents I didn't pass the hook of my laziness. It was a lesson learned and my employer asked me to get another clearance.

FastForward to Present:

1. I went ahead and reprocess another appointment online (https://clearance.nbi.gov.ph/) 
• you can always reschedule it on the next business day, I am discouraging you to schedule it in the afternoon as usually they have cut off for the queue and you will just have to rely on being a chance passenger( LOL! :D )
• NOTE: choose the NBI office were you did your QUALITY CONTROL INTERVIEW specially if you initially processed the clearance from a satellite office and ended up being referred to another location for QCI.
2. Proceed to the Encoding Area, you will be asked to be back in 2 weeks time. You don't need to wait for another millennium. Approach any officer of the day and tell them about your story that you just had errors on your clearance and that you already went through the waiting game.
3. You will be asked to go to a certain office (it will be in the same building for sure). You just have to present the original clearance that has an error in it and after few minutes you will be asked to go back to Quality Control Section for your Interview. AGAIN!!! Be nice because it is your fault and they won't bite you if you admit that it was your fault but if they do just ignore their attitude, REMEMBER: YOU DON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER 2WEEKS, GETS?
4. Wait for further instruction from your interviewer, it is just either of the following:
• you wait for them to print your Clearance with correct data or;
• you will be asked to get it from the releasing section
5. Then go HOME and always remember that there is no shortcut for everything and sometimes you will just BRING DOWN THE WRATH OF HEAVEN UPON YOU if you do so!

DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE FOLLOWING:

• Original Clearance with the wrong Data
• Government Issued ID(s)
• Smile on your FACE, EVEN a FAKE ONE WILL DO
• and MOST OF ALL, Long PATIENT and UNDERSTANDING

Welcome to my first ever blog! Sharing with you the life of a DOST scholar when processing  NBI Clearance.

• The Normal Process
• After you graduated from College under the grant of DOST Scholarship, you need to get an NBI Clearance to start with your career and here are the easy steps that you have to do:
1. Register/Create your online account with the NBI and make sure to double check all the entries to avoid errors upon your physical appearance with NBI offices to complete the application.
2. Visit your chosen NBI office to finalize the application, make sure that your already processed the payment ahead of the visit in any payment center or online banking. This is better than waiting in line in the actual office to process a payment and most of the time satellite offices would not have a payment center unless you visit their main Offices such as in United Nation. Usually it would take 10 minutes to complete the payment if you will be doing it in the actual office, so better do it thru 7Eleven, Bayad Centers or Online Banking.
3. You will be given a schedule as to when are you coming back to pick up your clearance that would usually be after 2 weeks. 
• If your chosen office is far from your point of origin, you better save your travel time by asking whether the Quality Control Interview will be done in the same office or in another office. Better ask any officer of the day so that you no longer need to have multiple stops on the actual release of your clearance.
• If you have DOST grant you will definitely undergo a Quality Control Interview before they release your clearance so better ask about the Office that will do it before leaving the clearance Center.
4. On the day of your schedule, you can go directly go to the office that will do the Quality Control Interview and go to the Releasing section. Your claim stub will be stamped with " For Quality Control".
5. Proceed to Quality Control Section and politely ask for the process for the QC interview (heads-up: process for the interview may differ depending on the office, but if you are going to the main office in United Nation, they will be giving you your number Queue and make sure not to miss the line.)
6. Once they called your number, just be polite to your interviewers and answer the question that they will be asking. Normally they will not ask you any question specially if you are a Fresh Graduate but instead they will just confirm your Financial and Service Obligation.
• If you think that you are already past the number of years  required and haven't processed yet your clearance, you just have to be honest why you haven't processed the clearance yet. They will not harm you anyways and you will still get your clearance unless you have other Unlawful violation.
• Clearance Requirements:
• Complete your Online Account
• Payment Receipt
• JUST ONE Government IDs (don't bother to ask if they accept any other documents, you are just wasting your time and effort):
• Passport
• Voter’s ID
• Driver’s License
• SSS ID
• PRC License
• Philhealth
• School ID
• Postal ID
• GSIS UMID
• Tax Identification Number (TIN) ID
• Senior Citizen Card
• NSO Authenticated Birth Certificate
• Alien Certificate of Registration
• Copy of Previous NBI Clearance
